Our Laertes, Jack Hamilton, due to commitments to his band Sleeptalking, has had to move on from the production. Alas! We send him all our blessings and wish him brightest luck for the future - our first Laertes will undoubtedly be missed.
This means we are now looking for an equally talented and committed young male tenor to join our wonderful ensemble for the 2017 tour of Ophelia: Madness (in blue). Lucy and I are currently organizing a tour of the show, which will take place in the Spring and Summer 2017! We are looking to bring the piece to venues across the South West, including theatres, community halls and schools. We are also applying to contemporary theatre festivals and new work showcases in the UK up until summer. Performance dates will be intermittent, and committment will be scheduled around the general availability of the ensemble. The Role: We are auditioning for the role of Laertes! Son to Polonius, brother to Ophelia, Laertes is an elegant, focused and fiery young courtier, a well-travelled soldier, and as passionate a personality as his sister. Auditionees should be musically experienced; although formal classical training is not essential, a passion for musical performance and a willingness to work on this ambitious adaptation certainly is! We are looking for a young tenor aged 18-29 to join our ensemble and be a part of this exciting project for forthcoming performances. Please note all that this is a paid position. Auditions: We will be holding auditions in Bristol for the next four weeks (January 23rd-20th February 2017)! We are currently open to arranging auditions in a flexible manner. It is essential that you please inform us of your availability upon applying! To apply to audition please send your CV and a recent headshot to the company at [email protected]. Links to video and audio files and Soundcloud profiles are also welcome! Please only apply if you are based in the South West or London; unfortunately, as much as we'd love to see people from further afield, we are only able to subsidise travel expenses from these areas to Bristol.
